....How do I use this thing again?
It has seriously, been a very long time since I've written in here, so sad! But at this particular moment, I cannot recall what I ought to be doing. I have assignments. I know this. But my brain is falling down on the job.
I'm just going to ignore the months-long gap (tl;dr) and talk about today! I had a wonderful day today, in retrospect. I didn't really want to get up today. But it is a good thing I did! Waiting for the lift in Geomatics Building today I saw sloo, which was unexpected down this end of the university, so much so that I think we both ended up staring through the glass door of the building at each other for a few moments before concluding that yes, this is a person that I know, I remember this person, waving is appropriate here. Or maybe that was just me.
Talked to sloo! Apparently my subjects are not the only ones housed in lecture theatres far from home. And I am so not going to Manifest, my heart hurts. Let us not think of final project now!
Got to Advanced Control class. Early even! This is shocking given I frequently walk in five minutes late. This is due to Connex not being able to run trains on time. But my train was early today, which is to say that it ran on schedule.
Spent the rest of the day in the RaBiT labs, discussing control assignment (and now MATLAB is fixed and can see the C compiler I maybe can complete it) and working on final year project, which was charmingly frustrating as always, but at least I got to use math instead of trying to reason biology. I haet biology. I like math!
I have an interview for a graduate position! This I was told today, while in the RaBiT labs. A happy thing. Had my driving lesson, where handbrake starts own me, as does head checking. I like my driving lessons though, because I get to drive around my old neighbourhood. Oh nostalgia.
Also, may I point out? DRIVING LESSONS. ME. Check it.
On the way home I came across a cute little dog. It was digging, it was sniffing, it was HOLY CRAP CROSSING THE ROAD, NEARLY KILLED, WTF DOGGY? You do not seem to have an owner with you, or any road sense.
Spent the next 10 minutes chasing it about (it got growly and nippy when I reached for it) until getting a hold of its collar and tags, and shortly thereafter, its owner by phone.
I wonder if I should go rescue drowning ants too or something equally pitiful, just to make sure I balance the happy events of the day with my good deeds a bit more.

Kumiho is nice, not too overpowering but a little bit bright - wasn't feeling well in the morning so that may be influencing me - I kept thinking lemon, despite it not having any lemon in XD
Upon reflection, yes, a keeper.
Shanghai I like, rather refined but not a day to day scent for me - it's currently giving me the slightest hints of a headache unfortunately, but I've only just put it on.
ETA: okay, softens nicely but argh sneezy now D: Swapping, methinks.
Looking forward to trying on the rose scents.
ETA II: Moon Rose is another of those which make my nose run. Actual rose scent is nice, but there is something there that just irritates. Also smelt like cheap rose perfume when drying XD I can't see myself using this, and mom hates rose perfumes.
Return of the ETA: Two, Five and Seven smells absolutely foul in the imp. But oh, on wet it softens to turkish delight. All delicious and sweet. A little tingle of lemon underneath it all, I think, a little musky, and not at all overpowering. I think I'm going to love this.
Dry, the rose scents are a bit more dominant than before. Thankfully, it's not irritating my allergies too much, and should be fine once I stop sniffing at my wrists every five seconds. Definitely only need a touch of this one to suit me.
ETA Strikes Back: Kitsune-Tsuki I had to wash off. No headache but just too much for my nose - I was sitting on my hand to keep the scent from wafting. Pity. I liked the name D:
Water of Notre Dame smells like sunscreen, at the moment. Not smelling any of the watery notes it is supposed to have yet.
Okay, less sunscreen-y more classic perfume, although still not what I would be wanting to wear.
Oh! There you are aquatic! I think this still reminds me a bit too strongly of what sunscreen smells like - bad memories there. But a nice scent if that is ignored.
Mm, hello, violets. Very much violets. No wonder I thought classic perfume.
I think this is a definite maybe. :D Would go very well for our teaparties I suppose.

Unfortunately, I can only test two or three scents before a) my nose just gives up and b) my fingers start smelling like I've soaked them in those generic air perfumers. Ickk.
Brief preliminary run down of my BPAL:
What I got

Thoughts
White Rabbit is quite delicious, if a little oversweet on my skin for my taste. Still rather like it.
Dragon's Reverie is gorgeously musky, but very strong. Smells exotic and reminds me of walking into Ojays on Queens Pde, with the wafts of incence. Suits mom more than it does me, I think. Is the most fabulous shade of orange red, which I think works beautifully.
Kumiho is light and much more to my taste in scents, fresh. Both Kumiho and Shanghai are promising, but had been tried after too many other scents.
Waters of Notre Dame smelled interesting in the bottle, but didn't live up to it. May try it and Kitsune-Tsuki again, but at the moment not my kind of thing.
Doesn't help that the combination of scents is currently searing the back of my nose now. New method, one perfume per day. Tomorrow I will retry Kumiho, and proceed from there. I'm sure I will have scents to trade after exams though.
Peculiar that I break LJ silence to talk about perfume. At this point it really ought to be more doom and despair. No, really.

Also, Ninja is much better and not so much with the thumping anymore. And mmm, internet download limit has been reset for Christmas, what more could one want?

It's mildly distressing that I am prompted to update for a meme. DISTRESSING.
So, quick update on life: exams are thankfully over, as is the assignments of doom, birthday is over although I seem to still be getting gifts at odd intervals - MY PARENTS ARE GETTING ME A CAR. To share, but hey, don't care too much currently. And Tim got me a Gundam model and I now have a Deathscythe-Hell to call my ownnnn. Once I actually build it hee.
Vacation work is doing really well so far, a lot of reading and trying to comprehend the project at the moment (and a lot of fuss since everyone is moving to a new building and everything needs to be packed) but my supervisor('s, I get an extra one since there are a few people attached to this project ^^) are really quite awesome and I seem to get along well with everyone so this is GOOD! And csiro is just a really nice environment to be working in, it seems :D
My cat managed to get his back foot cut nearly to the bone, and I was the only one home when I discoved this. Cue hyperventilation and panicky calls to Dad. Don't know how he managed to do it, but now his leg is all bandaged and splinted, and hopefully he will make a full recovery although some tendons were severed. Wah, poor kitty! Although he looks absolutely hilarious thumping away over the wooden floorboards now as the splint makes his leg longer than normal and he's all wonky. Tends to make having him on the bed slightly difficult since he will shake his cast thing in your face as you sleep. Not how I wish to awaken.
More updates later for when I am not dead.

I have been eaten by projects.
...I got better. Just, you know, six of them due the last week of semester. So I've been spazzing, just mostly away from lj.
All done though! Just in time for exams! Hurrah.

Got my wisdom teeth out on Thursday. Going in to the hospital? Not worried at all, strangely enough. And now that I can feel my lips (and yes, my aching gums too) I am not dribbling everywhere. Still no homework done at all, sadface. Tim came over bringing flowers and chocolate mousse and soft foods, which was very sweet despite the fact that he brought out the crunchy pretzels and peppermint crisps first because he is an awful, awful person, the end. Slept for 17 hours in between wake ups for pain meds. Feeling very weird and wanting sleep again. Too much sleep is bad, isn't it? I want my ice packs back and this post has degenerated from relevant to not so and I can hardly spell at the moment. Hope uni on monday will not be too bad. I want to draw but am worried what might happen with that - my dreams have been weird enough with star wars and trams and libraries and falling. Yeah.

I'm not even sure that this is a meme, per se, or if it is just something that ingenius_inc came up with, but I am stealing nonetheless.

Ahahahahahahahahahhaahhahaha.
So I've been working all day, on and off, on an application for a vacation scholarship that closes today and what do I do? Working working working, distracted by looking up other vacancies, oh dear LORD IT'S 11:50 PM AND I HAVEN'T FINISHED. RUSH JOB, SEMI-FINISHED APPLICATION, CRYING HI.
On the other hand, at this time of night this is kinda hilarious as well. Apart from the tears.
Oh well, it's submitted, which is better than if I had missed the deadline, I suppose.
And my coverletter refers to a transcript which isn't provided oh noes. Cut and paste is not your friend. Especially near midnight when you can't even proofread the line you just wrote, not to mention the chunk of text you have taken from some other application.
To conclude? AHAHAHAHAHA. And my exemption paperwork has come through oh god thank you. And I really need a doomed icon and pissy Gaara will just have to cover again. :D

So, many things have happened, including most recently, a boyfriend and a ski trip.
Can't remember last time I posted, or what details were posted... but all that is important really is that boyfriend is a complete dork and snowboarding is both hellish and fun at the same time. Much of the hellish is because ew, wet pants, and I dislike being cold and wet on general principal. And ow, my upper body hurts, which just makes NO sense. Also, my butt, which kinda does given how often I was falling.
Am now sickish, and not wanting to go to work tomorrow. Hi flist, I'm going to spend hours catching up, aren't I? Woe.

And the sad part of this statement is that I'll probably spend it sleeping for more than half the day. Oh well, it's winter, cold, hibernating sounds like a valid lifestyle choice.
Now to read my flist. I haven't been around since the final week of semester I think. This will be a little bit painful, given that I'm reduced to dial up speeds and my wireless is still emo. NOT AS PAINFUL AS EXAMS. I think I did okay.
Why don't you guys just comment with the highlights of the last month-ish. I crave social interaction without, you know, the effort of getting out of bed at the moment. If you don't, I'll just assume all my friends are boring ♥

I would update further on my life [to date] except for the part where I DIDN'T SLEEP LAST NIGHT because I was watching 'Goong' (which is fabulous and Shin is completely hot, thanks) and didn't finish until 11am anyway. THAT WAS FUN. [And also dead, which is the main point I forgot to mention]
It is also rather trippy trying to code up projects with no sleep and a little bit of chocolate because you throw all that stuff you've been taught about systematically going through functions to find the errors [right out the window] and instead start randomly changing lines of code where your intuition tells you something is buggy.
My code actually works. This is the part I find most amazing.

My flist has been sending me subliminal messages. And hell if I can refuse crack. :D
1) Make a list of 15 characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment. (That way you're not leading the questions asked to fit the characters.)
2) Ask your flist to post questions in the comments.
For example:
"4, 6, 12 & 15 are starting a band together, what is their name and what kind of music do they play? Also, who's the lead singer, and what instruments do the others play?"
3) After your flist has asked enough questions, round them up and answer them using the 15 characters you selected beforehand, and then post them.
Go for it people, I'll check it after work tomorrow.
(Spent the day with chocolate and homework and Shirley, very boring, assignment half finished, the end.)
